On the Podcast Shake Shake Shake...

…with Alexandra Wright & Kodi Jackman. Had a wonderful time talking to them about the Antonios of Twelfth Night & Merchant. The segment is an exploration of their sexuality, though as usual I ramble, and the discussion wanders down many Shakespearean roads…

More Emperor...

Two wonderful articles were published in the Czech journal Theatralia about my outrageous Zoom production of Aphra Behn’s The Emperor of the Moon for the R/18 Collective, in collaboration with Misty Anderson and Charlotte Munson. First a great review and meditation on Zoom theatre can be found HERE. Next, Misty’s excellent consideration of the play and the context of the times - both when it was written and now - can be found HERE.

I’ve directed a pair of Zoom productions: The Revolutionists, by Lauren Gunderson (great 4-hander for women) for Coachella Valley Repertory, and The Critic, by Sheridan (also playing Mr. Puff) for The R/18 Collective

…I also organized a wonderful gathering of scenes for The R/18 Collective and The Newberry Conference including The Tragedy of Zara, The Suspicious Husband, and Wild Oats. Otherwise, my PWYC Shakespeare Class continues Monday evenings on Zoom.

Writing Some Shakespeare...

…well, some bad Shakespeare, perhaps, but I’m proud of it. Had the honor of writing up some transition verse for the Chorus of UNCSA’s radio production of Henry V. Loved the back and forth with the brilliant Sara Becker, who directed and brought me on to the project.

Program can be found HERE: they misspelled my last name, but perhaps Charles Pasternik is who I am when trying to write the Bard. ;-)
